Chassis batteries not charging
I have a 2006 Tiffin Allegro Bay 38TDB Freightliner 26000. I currently have a TrippLite inverter/charger and have been plugged in to shore power constantly for over a year. I had to replace the 3 year old house batteries a couple of months ago due to the 12v system going down several times. Before the haters start hating please know that I never contemplated owning much less living in an RV. I got cancer and lost my home in 23 and was forced into this life. I am mechanically inclined and most of the repairs I have had to do myself as I now live on disability. Mechanic's daughter. I start the coach every once in awhile as I feel that it's necessary to let the fluids flow periodically in any engine. Yesterday, I went to start it since I'm moving to a different location and when I turn the key....nothing. That is the first time it hasn't started.Attempted to disconnect the series (2 6v deep cycles wires in a series) to charge them individually, and the charger won't charge. My voltmeter read 4.7 in each 6v. Help!?!? I don't know what to do now. Please be kind and helpful. I don't need negative comments. Thank you in advance for any help offered.40Views0likes9CommentsNeed help identifying a connector? Happy to help!
Hey everyone, I am part of the team at FindPigtails.com, but more importantly, I am just someone who really enjoys solving the puzzle of electrical connections in vehicles. If you have a mystery connector on hand, whether it's automotive, RV, motorcycle, or anything in between, and you're unsure what it is or where to find a match, I'm happy to help. Feel free to post a picture or description, and I will do my best to point you in the right direction. No sales pitch here, just trying to be a helpful neighbor in the community. We just purchased a 2012 40ft Phaeton with just under 70k miles. It dings an alert randomly, with no warning or light indicating the issue. Everything looks fine on the dash. The ding plays over the music (dimming music when it alerts) so we can’t find where it’s coming from. Everything is working properly, seatbelts clasped, awnings tight, etc. Only dings when driving, not at idle. Any thoughts?23Views0likes1Comment1999 Damon Intruder lost all power
I was on my way back from a long weekend. We were on the expressway and 30 minutes from home. My RV lost all power. The engine stopped, the dash was out, no steering, no breaks, nothing. Doing 55 MPH, I put it in neutral and tried starting, nothing. Luckily, we were able to get to the shoulder and come to a stop. I put it into part and tried to start. Again, nothing. Not even the electric break made noise when I turned on the ignition. Good thing for Good Sam. They arranged a tow truck and brought the RV home. Has anyone had an issue like this? Thoughts?231Views0likes26Commentsadd 2nd battery
I have a 4 year old 5th wheel that I just bought and it has one battery that is AGM 12v 110am @c100 12v 100am C20 it gets charged from a solar panel and I assume from my truck. My question is, can I just add one more battery that says AGM 12v 110am @c100 12v 100am C20 and hook up the 2 positives and the 2 negatives or will it not get charged correctly or ? My goal is to just have a bit more battery life as inexpensively as possible. I don't boondock, but once a while I am a campground without electricity and stay for one night. I do have a generator but it would be nice if my batteries would keep my 110 fridge running most of the night with the inverter and batteries. I have a 40' 5th wheel. Hi All, I am trying to help my buddy who is borrowing my Tioga and of course experienced problems his very first night of RV'ing! The power went out on the LEFT side of the stove-top range, meaning, the fan and light don't work now. (The stuff on the right of the rangetop are ok where you have the tank metering). The water pump works fine. At the same time, the socket in the loft area went out. We did a visual check of the fuses (and I know we should do a continuity test on them, as well) and they seemed ok, but I would greatly appreciate any suggestions beyond that. Thanks in advance for any help!36Views0likes1Comment97 Ford 460 issues
I have a 97 Fleetwood pace arrow vision on the Ford F53 chassis with the 460 v8 gas engine. 33k miles on rig. New aluminum 80 gallon fuel tank and FoMoCo sourced fuel pump. After driving for roughly 2 hours I lose power and can't get over 2k rpms without the engine bucking and shaking, if I continue the check engine light will come on. If I shut off the engine for a minute or more all is normal again after restart though for how long varies. I did have a problem with the distributer bolt being loose and the timing getting messed up which I set as well as I could as due to the design of the dog house I can't get anywhere near seeing the timing marks without putting my face into a spinning fan blade. If anyone has a suggestion on how to fix that issue also I'd appreciate it. Oh before anyone asks the rig is OBD1 even though it's a 97 so pulling a code without the check engine light on doesn't work109Views0likes5Comments2024 Sandpiper 4002FB grey tank issue
Hi everyone, I have a new leftover Forest River Sandpiper 4002FB. It has 2 grey tanks, 2 black tanks and a galley tank. In the front compartment where the water comes in is the valve for the black and galley drain, in the rear on left side behind tires is a black water for rear bathroom and a grey water drain. My grey water #1 is showing full on the gauge but I don’t see a drain for it and camping world has not been any help. I am traveling in Texas and it’s supposed to get down to 13 one night this next week and I’m not sure if tanks are all drained or one is full. Just wondering if anyone else has this model. Hoping it’s just a sensor. Thanks89Views0likes2Comments
