Bad Service of Airconditioning
I would not recommend Travers RV service due to bad customer service. I had Travers install a new roof and air conditioning system on my 2011 Thor Windsport about a month ago. Fifteen days ago I took my RV on a trip to Texas where there was 100 degree temperatures. When I got to Texas I quickly learned the air conditioner was not working as was expected but could only blow hot air which made the inside of the RV over 100 degrees. It was impossible to sleep in the RV due to the heat. I called Travers to see what could be done. I told him that I did not want to cut my vacation short and drive all the way back to Missouri. He suggested I call someone local in Texas for help. I called RVMan in New Braunfels who came out and diagnosed the problem as a bad air conditioner. He showed me the diagnostic result that showed low amperage that caused the air conditioner to blow hot air. RVMan had to install a new unit which solved the hot air problem. I sent Travers the invoice from RVMan but Travers refused to pay me. Now I am out a couple of thousand dollars due to them installing a bad air conditioner. Travers maintained that the air conditioner was working when it was tested in their service center. So basically they called me a liar when I reported to them it was not working. The RVMan wrote notes detailing what was wrong with the unit on the invoice that I sent Travers. I have spent a great deal of money at Travers so they feel like they do not need my business anymore because I am asking for my money back from a bad installation on their part. I do not recommend Travers RV Service to horrible customer serviceSolved69Views1like5Comments2005 Georgie boy pursuit slide rollers

I have a 97 Fleetwood pace arrow vision on the Ford F53 chassis with the 460 v8 gas engine. 33k miles on rig. New aluminum 80 gallon fuel tank and FoMoCo sourced fuel pump. After driving for roughly 2 hours I lose power and can't get over 2k rpms without the engine bucking and shaking, if I continue the check engine light will come on. If I shut off the engine for a minute or more all is normal again after restart though for how long varies. I did have a problem with the distributer bolt being loose and the timing getting messed up which I set as well as I could as due to the design of the dog house I can't get anywhere near seeing the timing marks without putting my face into a spinning fan blade. If anyone has a suggestion on how to fix that issue also I'd appreciate it. Oh before anyone asks the rig is OBD1 even though it's a 97 so pulling a code without the check engine light on doesn't work135Views0likes6CommentsElectrical Outlet issues

Our new-to-us 2001 Coachmen Leprechaun has an electrical issue that has me stumped. The house battery and converter that it came with where not producing adequate voltage and an RV tech that was working on something else told me to replace both and my problems should go away. I put in a Powermax PM3-55 and a couple good lead-acid batteries. Should have been good, right? While plugged in to shore power (sitting in our driveway) the coach voltage started to drop off and the new batteries were getting discharged. Testing with the batteries disconnected, I get about 12.6 vdc coming out of the converter, while lights, fan and fridge are running. When hooked to the coach load, house voltage drops down to about 11.6 vdc. I traced it back to the fuse panel under the bed hoping to isolate/identify (maybe) a ghost load or high resistance short to ground. Nope. A good 12.6 vdc feed is going to the fuse panel, but when I connect it to the fuse panel, it drops to1 11.6 vdc. Pulling out one fuse at a time, I expected to see which circuit is pulling it down. Again, nope. It stayed low throughout that exercise. So....I'm stumped. Is my brand-new converter bad? And can anyone tell me how a battery is supposed to charge while it is wired in parallel to the system load? Should I change the setting on the converter to a constant voltage instead of the fancy 3-stage charging? Any help would be much appreciated.72Views0likes7Comments1996 Damon Intruder engine temp question
Hello everyone! I am curious what is normal for the temperature gauge to read on this Damon Intruder. It has the Ford 460 engine. The temp gauge show L (NORMAL) H. The gauge will set on the M or A going down the highway at 70. I have been told that is to hot and that is should set closer to the O. Any thoughts on this? I do have e a couple videos I could send if need be but not sure how to add them here.40Views0likes7CommentsRV travel
I have an Atwood HE – 0601 fridge. It works great no issues. I just have a question about traveling with the refrigerator on LP is that OK to do? I’ve never done it before but I’m taking a long trip and wanted to leave the refrigerator running while traveling for 10 hours on the road.39Views0likes6CommentsTrail-lite 211 b+ transfer switch location
I have a 2003 trail lite r-vision 211 motorhome that I just purchased. The generator wouldn’t start so I had a new carb put on and now it runs. When the mechanic tested the generator he turned on the air conditioner and once the compressor kicked on ac power was lost. He did not have time to dig deeper into the lost power so I thought it may just be a breaker issue. I brought the rv home to troubleshoot it myself and found that now my shore power also doesn’t provide any power to the unit. DC still works but no AC from either the shore power or generator. I had shore power prior to this issue. The air conditioner has worked on shore power before so that unit isn’t the problem. My thought is it is likely the transfer switch but I can’t find it. I followed the wires under the RV from both the shore power and the generator but get lost in the wiring as it goes behind the frame. Does anybody know where the transfer switch is located?Solved67Views0likes7CommentsChassis batteries not charging
I have a 2006 Tiffin Allegro Bay 38TDB Freightliner 26000. I currently have a TrippLite inverter/charger and have been plugged in to shore power constantly for over a year. I had to replace the 3 year old house batteries a couple of months ago due to the 12v system going down several times. Before the haters start hating please know that I never contemplated owning much less living in an RV. I got cancer and lost my home in 23 and was forced into this life. I am mechanically inclined and most of the repairs I have had to do myself as I now live on disability. Mechanic's daughter. I start the coach every once in awhile as I feel that it's necessary to let the fluids flow periodically in any engine. Yesterday, I went to start it since I'm moving to a different location and when I turn the key....nothing. That is the first time it hasn't started.Attempted to disconnect the series (2 6v deep cycles wires in a series) to charge them individually, and the charger won't charge. My voltmeter read 4.7 in each 6v. Help!?!? I don't know what to do now. Please be kind and helpful. I don't need negative comments. Thank you in advance for any help offered.81Views0likes14Comments
