Good Sam warranty
We have a 2010 Damon Challenger 368 with roughly 32,000 miles on her now. I requested a quote from Good Sam for a warranty and received one for $1644.45 a year, or $137.04 per month or $417.12 quarterly. Has a $500.00 deductable. I'm at the point where I think we may need a warranty for things I can't fix. Our roof ac's come to mind. Their working fine but getting old now. I have a few smaller things going on now too. Steps stopped working, motor works but the gear component is missing a few bolts. I'll be able to handle that. Leaking slide out seal(s), etc. Like I said I'll pick way at these smaller issues, just want protection from something bigger. Anyone have any experience with this or another warranty? Thanks Bob2.3KViews0likes12CommentsFleetwood 2008 Discovery 40X Opinions Please
Hello Campers, We are looking at a 2008 Discovery 40X with 35,000 miles. They are asking $109,500. Going to trade our 2006 40' 5th wheel. We are ready to go back to a motorhome. Would love any opinions (good and bad) about the Discovery line; especially if you own this particular unit or close to it.2.3KViews0likes6CommentsTemperature Adjust on F53 chassis
The temperature adjust control on my dash seems to have only two settings: cold or hot. Very little turning of the knob results in the temp going from cold (or hot)to the exact opposite. No warm or cool or any temperature in between.. Any suggestions?3.1KViews0likes24CommentsLP leaking when I turn on valve...
I went to turn on the LP gas on my 1993 Itasca and as I turned the on valve I could smell gas and feel air pressure on my fingers...seems like the leak is from the stem off the on/off knob... Does this make sense. When I close valve leak stops.. Anything I can do about it or is it something for tech professional...15KViews0likes20CommentsHow does shore power work for the 12 volt system?
I am curious as to how the 12 volt system works when plugged into shore power. Does the inverter keep the batteries charged, and directly power the 12 volt stuff on the motorhome, or do the batteries provide the power and the shore power keeps the batteries charged? Maybe this will be a clearer question than the one above: Is it necessary to have the house batteries hooked up to provide 12V power to the motorhome? Clear as mud? :)12KViews0likes22Comments1972 Revcon 250
I recently purchased a 1972 Revcon 250 and have quickly realized how tough it's going to be to do a complete remodel of this rare beast. Currently I'm searching for new tires... the stock Revcon came with (5) 10-16.5 tires - including spare. For some odd reason the one I bought has two 9.5-16.5 and two 12.5-16.5 on the rear. I'm able to mount some 9.5-16.5 transforce's on three wheels, but the two rear wheels are wider and no tire is made to fit a 12.5-6.5 wheel. Any recommendations on the two rear wheels? Or does anyone know where I can possibly find two wheels that came with the stock 72 Revcon 250? (And some spare lug nuts, considering the rarity of those as well.) ... Everything/everybody leads me Marty Moore's in San Diego, but the phone number is no longer in service and I live too far to check it out myself. Thanks in advance! Have a great weekend. - Jacob10KViews0likes17CommentsBCM Mail & Ship, Quartzsite AZ
I'm been full-timing for over a year now, I've been having my daughter forward my mail, but lately it's been a bit of trouble for her due to health. I want to retain my AZ domicile and was wondering if anyone has expierence with BCM Mail and Shipping Service in Quartzsite AZ. Or any other recommendations. Thanks in advance3.6KViews0likes11Commentsbrakes seizing up on older motorhome.
We have replaced all calipers, flexible hoses, master cylinder, and power assist booster on our 1985 Class A P30 Chevy chassis motorhome. After traveling 2 to 3 miles, the travel on the brake pedal becomes less and less, until there is no travel left and the brakes are seized up. I am at a lose for the cause of this, as everything is now new. Any suggestions as to what could be causing the brakes to seize??7.1KViews0likes20CommentsElectric diagram
I am looking for wiring diagram for a 1989 Executive 36 ft DP. It was made (MH) by Executive industries in Southern Cal. They are no longer in Business. They were bought out by Monaco, but they were purchased by some one else. Spartan supplied the chassis but they have no diagrams for the coach. Is there some place that might have these diagrams in an archive? Any help would be appreciated.1.1KViews0likes3CommentsPeeling Clearcoat
Thought I'd share my latest project. I'm going to try to do the DIY repair on my peeling clear coat. Lots have been said on this subject, most geared toward sand, prime, basecoat, and clearcoat. I've got an unaffordable estimate of $3000 to do just that. This morning I got up, and thoroughly cleaned the painted fiberglass roof. In my opinion, it cleaned up very well, with car wash and soft brush first, and secondly with magic eraser. The clear coat on the roof is completely gone, but the paint appears to be in good condition. I plan to use Wet Look Zep on the surface of the roof. I've used Zep on another motorhome, and am totally happy with the results. The radius where the clear coat is peeling will be a bit more challenging. I'm planning to use a plastic razor blade to scape the peeling line to a hard edge. Wet sand 1500 grit on remaining clearcoat, and very lightly sand the exposed basecoat. I'm not going to try and feather the peeling edge, and rather hope I've got a good, well adhered hard edge. 3 coats of raddle can 2K clear in the radius area only, will hopefully do the trick. There is evidence that this is not the first repair to the radius area of this coach. There is a distinct line where a previous repair was done. Just got this coach last year, so don't know how long it lasted. Last part of this project will be detailing the paint.5.6KViews0likes19Comments
