12 volt does'nt work
i have a 2022 Forest River Flagstaff 21FBRS travel trailer. In 4 years we never had an issue until now. On our last trip, our 12 volt system stopped working (fridge, slide outs, lights, etc.). I made sure that the the battery disconnect switch was on. I checked circuit breakers. All okay. Once we got to our destination and plugged into shore power, everything worked. When we got back home I had the batteries checked. They were bad, so I bought new batteries. Still no 12 volt working. So I assume the problem is somewhere between the batteries and the the inside of the trailer. By the way, I tried the electric jack using only battery power and it works just fine. But I guess that is because it is directly connected to the batteries. Any suggestions on trouble shooting before I take it back to the dealer (which charges $165 per hour).8Views0likes0Comments2019 attitude landing gear motor issues
I have a 2019 attitude that every time I go down on my landing gear, it pops the inline fuse. I have changed the motor the switch the short circuit relay even with the motor not connected and just sitting there, it still pops the fuse. I thought it went straight to the battery, but it looks like it goes Under the trailer, somewhere. Where else might it go that I'm missing? And why would it just short out on the down or extend?13Views0likes3Comments2024 Holiday Rambler
My 2024 Holiday Rambler, Armada 40M; Running on generator I mistakenly used the microwave while running the cloths dryer as well as all three A/C’s, resulting in all three units shutting down, I know, I know! Well now not one of them will start back up! I checked the breaker panel and nothing is off? It’s supposed to be pretty warm tomorrow (July 4th in Rhode Island) so any help is very appreciated!Solved86Views0likes5CommentsBad tail light wiring
Hi All - I have a problem with the left tail light on my new to me 2002 Jayco Qwest. The tail light itself works, but the turn signal, brake, and flasher do not. Everything works correctly on the right side. I assumed the problem was a bad bulb, but it turns out I’m only getting about 2 volts to the wire that powers the turn break and flashers. I’ve reached in and pulled out that wire as far as I can and from what I can see there are no bad connectors there. Anyone have any thoughts as to how I can get a new wire routed to that light. I don’t see any access inside or from the bottom. Just FYI , the wire scheme is as follows: Right light (works) Tail light - Green Turn, brake, Flash - Brown Left light (only tail light works) Tail light - Green Turn, brake, Flash - Red (only 2 volts). Thanks, Any help appreciated.Solved114Views0likes5CommentsJayco 260BHW No Power w/ Battery, Shore or Vehicle connection.
Just bought a new Jayco 260BHW last year and everything worked fine. Brought it out of storage today and have no power to the unit. Tried connecting to shore power with no luck. Jack works fine. Battery was stored in the house and it measures good. I don't think there's a main power switch to kill everything, in that I disconnect the negative terminal on the battery after every camping trip last year. Checked breakers, fuses in panel under the fridge, but can't figure what's going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.53Views0likes3CommentsPower converter

Our new-to-us 2001 Coachmen Leprechaun has an electrical issue that has me stumped. The house battery and converter that it came with where not producing adequate voltage and an RV tech that was working on something else told me to replace both and my problems should go away. I put in a Powermax PM3-55 and a couple good lead-acid batteries. Should have been good, right? While plugged in to shore power (sitting in our driveway) the coach voltage started to drop off and the new batteries were getting discharged. Testing with the batteries disconnected, I get about 12.6 vdc coming out of the converter, while lights, fan and fridge are running. When hooked to the coach load, house voltage drops down to about 11.6 vdc. I traced it back to the fuse panel under the bed hoping to isolate/identify (maybe) a ghost load or high resistance short to ground. Nope. A good 12.6 vdc feed is going to the fuse panel, but when I connect it to the fuse panel, it drops to1 11.6 vdc. Pulling out one fuse at a time, I expected to see which circuit is pulling it down. Again, nope. It stayed low throughout that exercise. So....I'm stumped. Is my brand-new converter bad? And can anyone tell me how a battery is supposed to charge while it is wired in parallel to the system load? Should I change the setting on the converter to a constant voltage instead of the fancy 3-stage charging? Any help would be much appreciated.101Views0likes7CommentsTrail-lite 211 b+ transfer switch location
I have a 2003 trail lite r-vision 211 motorhome that I just purchased. The generator wouldn’t start so I had a new carb put on and now it runs. When the mechanic tested the generator he turned on the air conditioner and once the compressor kicked on ac power was lost. He did not have time to dig deeper into the lost power so I thought it may just be a breaker issue. I brought the rv home to troubleshoot it myself and found that now my shore power also doesn’t provide any power to the unit. DC still works but no AC from either the shore power or generator. I had shore power prior to this issue. The air conditioner has worked on shore power before so that unit isn’t the problem. My thought is it is likely the transfer switch but I can’t find it. I followed the wires under the RV from both the shore power and the generator but get lost in the wiring as it goes behind the frame. Does anybody know where the transfer switch is located?Solved110Views0likes7Comments
