Snowbirding in Mexico
I am posting in this section as the question is aimed at those who normally snowbird in Az. I have been snow-birding in Mexico now for 8 years after having done it in the SW for the first couple of years. Personally, I would never go back to spending the winter in Az, but maybe that is just me. I driven all over Mexico for 5 months a year, even led caravans, and never have had, nor seen, an "incident". I have some questions, I am contacting some tourism officials in Mexico and trying to get them to promote the RV industry a bit more, so I have some questions. 1) Are you scared to take your RV into Mexico? 2) Do you think there are no modern RV parks in Mexico? 3) Does the lack of ULSD diesel deter you? 4) Are you simply just happy with Az? 5) Are you worried about drug cartels? 6) Are you too wary to do it on your own, or with a caravan, or buddying with others who have done it before? 7) Does the language barrier deter you? 8) Have you ever considered going less than one day south, like Rocky Point, Kino Bay or San Carlos, all of which have modern RV parks? 9) Do you perceive Baja as safer? 10) Are you worried about road conditions? Please no lectures on Mexico being a war zone, I have heard them all before.13KViews0likes71CommentsTracfone Top Up from Canada
We are Canadians, we have a Prepay Tracfone and it runs out June 1st this year. We put $100 US on it every year for a year extension and it rolls over the existing time to it. I tried to add another $100 US on it thru the Tracfone website but it seems ok but does not go thru. I wonder if other Canadians might have Tracfones with time still on them and what they do. I hate to lose my minutes, I have a lot and to start all over again when we finally get back to the US would be a bummer. I guess I could call them but in calling in the past I end up in a call center in Guyana, S-America and its extremely difficult even though the center talks English to understand the person. I have heard that one can call a Tracfone number in Miami which would get around that difficulty in understanding the language. Anyone else in Canada have Tracfone and renewed their airtime without any difficulty? Thanks for any help!6.4KViews0likes19CommentsLand border closed to Canada
We open our land border to the U.S. to "non-essential" visitors so they can look after their owned property here in Canada but we can't do the same for our owned property we own in the U.S.,, sure we can fly over but we can't drive across in our RV's and other than protecting the airline industry I simply can't see how it's safer to stuff a couple of hundred people into a aluminum tube with a closed ventilation system opposed to me and my wife going through your border in our truck and driving down to Florida?? I actually sent an E-Mail to Biden reminding him on how we share the longest border in the world and we are the only people that go to the U.S. with money, health insurance and leave when we're supposed to not to mention that Canadians own over $15 billion worth of property in Florida alone and spend around $5 billion a year while we're there! I'm seriously considering selling my RV lot, let's see how long this post stays up,,6KViews0likes17Comments
