Tow Vehicle w/ Best Back Seat for Passengers - Ram Mega Cab?
Greetings! We are looking to purchase a 1 ton tow vehicle (2021-2024). We are aiming toward a Ram 3500 SRW CTD Mega Cab because its rear seats recline and it appears to have more back seat room than the Ford or Chevrolet/GMC. We would like something with the best rear seat passenger comfort we can get -- we are assuming all of the 1-tons are good for front passenger comfort and can adequately tow a 9,000 lb travel trailer. Has anyone compared the back seat comfort of the 1 tons and found anything better than the Ram Mega Cab in this measure? Thank you!
"Service trailer brake system" on 2016 GMC
Have a 2016 GMC 3500, 6.0 gas job with 57K miles. Constantly now my computer screen beeps "Service Trailer Brake System", even when no trailer is hooked to truck.. took to my local trailer guy, he checked my plug port where trailer lights plug in, and we checked all fuses. he said neither is the problem. he says its either the factory built trailer brake controller that was built in dash, or the "Module" that is up under the spare tire. Anyone ever have this issue? He said it would be a guessing game for him. I hate to take it to the stealership for diagnosis though....
2016 F250 6.2L gas mileage
Just returned from a round trip from Houston to Hot Springs Arkansas towing the trailer in my sig. 2016 F250 6.2L gasser towing a 2016 Jayflight 27BHS. Trailer, per the Cat scales, weighing in at 6900 lbs. Round trip mileage averaged 8.9 MPG towing at an average of 62 MPH. Real world mileage for whomever is interested ! Stay safe out there, lots of idiots on the road...Gone to diesel? Some questions for those that have.
Looking for those that made the switch from a gas TV to a diesel some questions. 1. Happy with your choice? 2. Are maintenance cost as high as you were lead to believe? 3. What gas rig did you switch from, to which diesel? 4. What are you pulling and what is its GVW? 5. Will your next TV be Gas or Diesel? Just looking for honest feedback from those that have stepped from gas to diesel as a TV. This is NOT a gas vs. diesel, but real life feedback from those that have changed to diesel both positive and negative. To the moderators, this is NOT a gas vs diesel post, looking for honest feed back from members who have made the switch, and if it was a positive or negative experience for them.
2003 Chevy Express 1500 Tow Capacity
HI, I have a 2003 Chevy Express 1500 V8 5.3L w/transmission cooler (180,000 miles) and Explorer Conversion and Hitch rated for 5000lb and 500lb tongue weight. The hitch is also rated for 7500lb and 750lb tongue weight if using anti sway. The GVWR for the Van is 7200lb and GCWR when towing is 12,000lb. The max weight the Van can tow is 6400lb. I weighed the van yesterday with me in it and it was 6500lb. We are looking at a 24 foot travel trailer that is 4800lb and has a tongue weight of 600lb. Does the tongue weight factor in to the GVWR for the Van? If so, I am maxed out at that point. Additional in the van will be 380lbs for my family. I am thinking about removing the rear bench seat/bed from the van. It estimated to weigh 140lbs. I also estimate that any gear we bring could be stored in the trailer as opposed the van.
