So there's been a lot of discussion lately about where the Toy Hauler members live. I'm a visual guy though, so a picture is worth a thousand words. I created a public Google Map that any of you can edit. Please sign on drop a pin on the map showing where you live. My only two requests are: * Please include your RV.NET user name * Please don't add yourself if you're not a regular on the Toy Hauler forum. (Lurkers are OK too) Hopefully this works out and isn't too lame. Diirk did the same thing a few years ago with a Frapper map and it was pretty cool (but now out of date). I have noticed that a lot of the other forum categories (i.e. travel trailer, fifth wheel, etc.) have a post for rig pictures. I haven't seen anything like that for Toy Haulers. If there is, can someone tell me where it is and if not can we start one? I like to see all the different rigs and possibly get ideas. Thanks.131KViews0likes339CommentsToy Haulers
The Boss and I are retired and have decided to travel in the winter and maybe in a year or two make it full time. We want a toy hauler so that we can take the bikes with us. This is absolutely new territory for both of us so we are trying to look at different units. We like the Raptor series but don't know anything about the history and costs, maintance or even if we should be looking at a different manufacturer. You guys that have done this a while please give us the benefit of your knowledge. Things wee should look at etc.9KViews0likes34CommentsToy Hauler Toy Selection
Recently got a toy hauler for reasons other than having a toy...but since we have the capability, considering if we want to get a toy. We aren't into harleys and are too old and fat for dirt bikes or quads. We could get a side by side but not sure we would use it enough to justify the hassles when not in an area with a lot of off road trails. It's a smaller toy hauler and the garage is also part of the living space, so it would have to get unloaded most stops. Ideally, would like something that would be street legal so it could get more use but could do some modest trail riding (like forest roads, not heavy duty stuff like mud bogging or rock crawling). So far the only thing we've come up with would be a motorcycle with sidecar (high ground clearance version). Thoughts?8.9KViews0likes26CommentsBig Toy, Toy Haulers???
Whats up guys? Im new here and looking for some information. Me and the gf are looking to make a big decision in the next year or so to buy a brand new hauler. I already have a tow rig i wont be getting rid of anytime soon. 1997 Mack CH600 with a 400+ hp E7 Mack motor that only hay 150k on a full in frame rebuild, all rebuilt front end and brand new tires all around. What we are looking for is something i can haul my crawler in or any future crawlers. Its 94" wide and has a wheel base of 123" on 44" tires so even 14 foot is cutting it close. Plus it weights 5300 pounds. Then add to that 4 8gal propane tanks, 2 sets of axle shafts, a couple driveshafts, another transfer case, another tire, 5 gallons of hydraulic fluid, 5 gallons of oil and some other miscellaneous parts for spares. Then we still have to add all of our camping stuff to that lol. We currently haul 2 rigs on out trailer now but she just got a new Samurai that will be hauled on the back of the semi like a smart car. I know that there are race trailers out there that will suit our needs but are entirely to pricey. I could resort to building a new set up like we have now but the insurance is in a grey area and we dont want that. Who out there is hauling similar things and what are you hauling it in? I also should note i REALLY want a door between the LQ and the garage because of the smell. When we yard sale it (break it bad) it can really start to leak and stink like gear lube BAD. I posted some pics of our current set up for everyone bellow. and one of the rig that has to go in our future TH Mod Edit: As previously mentioned please do not post photos wider then 800 pixels as it skews the forum. Details are in the photo thread, that you previously posted to. Thanks.8.8KViews0likes20CommentsNeed Toy Hauler with 15' garage or more, What to look for?
Looking to purchase a toy hauler but need more garage space than I have been able to find. Not very familiar with all the different brands. Can someone give me some ideas of what company offers a larger garage area? Tow vehicle is new Ford dually so "size doesn't matter"...6.6KViews0likes12CommentsFirst RV,Travel Trailer, Toy Hauler ever!
Hello all, so I have been around the whole desert/river scene since I was 13 racing motocross most my life I always have had some type of toy and but never owned a trailer. Now with a wife and a little girl on the way a toy hauler is going to be the only way ill get back to the desert. So I have the truck and towing experience and shopping for my first unit, now I plan on putting a 2 door time attack car around 2800lbs or so in it so I am only looking at 3 axle trailers with 15' plus garages. I have narrowed it down to a 07 triple axle (FSC3200) 780 HRS on generator(2 ac units) asking 17k the other is an 09 Forest River Sandstorm not sure what model but it is a triple axle (1 ac unit) but it does have solar panels and an invertor and (390 HRS on its generator) asking 15K pretty much same floorplan as the WW above...both trailers about 6 hrs drive... If you guys can give me your input that be great thanks in advance, ill put the links below https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/723410235660064/?hoisted=false&ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A40f1871b-fd1e-4c81-b19e-8685611f187d6.2KViews0likes22Comments
