Walter I have to ask you this question. Is there any German DNA in your history? Just something wild came into my mind that perhaps some of your family were of German descent. Not that it matters, but just wondering. You remind me of someone I used to know that was from Germany. He was a very smart man and quick wit with a quick sense of dry humor. MY mom thought he was a handsome devil with his white beard and lean statue. He smoked a pipe and I can still smell the odor of the tobacco he used. When he walked into a room all attention went to him. He missed the war as he escaped from Germany before Hitler began his campaign. He had some rank in the German military. I think he was in the navy and according to him saw what was happening in Germany and didn't want tp be a part of it and made his way to France before coming to the United States. He was interesting to talk with. Even as a kid I listened to his stories with awe and could not imagine all that he went through getting out of Germany. He was always looking over his shoulder d=for someone coming to take him back to Germany against his will. Interesting story. He kept a low profile in our city of Waynesboro. He felt safe there as if in a small town he could live the life he wanted without interference. Anyway that's my story for the morning.
