A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Good evening everyone. It's been a lazy day. The weather wasn't bad, just a little on the cold side, but a nice fire in the fireplace kept the house warm. It's bed time so I am going to call it a day, put the fur babies to bed and then myself. Walter I am glad you mentioned your German ancestry. It has been a long time since I have seen the person I mentioned. But I am betting you and he are related. He always wore a navy officers hat and I believe I saw him in an officer's jacket one time while he visited the Rosen's home. He was about sixty years old at that time, He must have been six feet tall or a little taller, slight build with white hair cut close and a white beard with blue eye. I remember him so well. His looks demanded attention. He had a deep laugh and was always busy doing something. He helped out in the kitchen with whatever needed doing and was so handy with the cooking. He could carve a chicken or turkey before you could take your could take your coat off. I wish I could remember his name, It was German nothing like Joe or Harry. It was like two last names put together. Anyway that's all I can remember about him.
