She had been taking Temaril-p and a water pill (can't remember the name). I believe the Temaril-p is a type of steroid. We were trying to ween her off the steroid and I believe she was down to a half a pill once or twice a day. My wife stopped giving it to her on Friday and by Sunday afternoon she was panting a lot and then went downhill fast on Monday. We mentioned this to the vet yesterday and he put her on Prednisolone which I believe is also a steriod? He had us give her a double dose last night and now it's one pill twice a day. He also gave her Enalapril which I believe is a type of heart med? I am probably not spelling any of this right but I think I'm close.
He also did a chest x-ray yesterday and said he really didn't see any fluid in her lungs (the z-ray several weeks ago showed fluid) but he did see inflammation in her lungs. He said her heart sounded good but that didn't rule out heart disease. Her blood work came back good several weeks ago.
If the steroids are helping her, what are the ramifications on keeping her on those?
