There is a new technique called "Chill Protocol" that is being used in vet medicine. It is designed for aggressive or fearful dogs and has shown great promise in dealing with these situations.
It uses a combination of drugs, usually gabapentin, melatonin and acepromazine (or other medications) timed in sequence.
Check with your vet and see if this would be appropriate.
