A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

I'm still here, Burch. Still checking, maybe not every day, but hate the format so much. It just doesn't work. Good luck selling your Mom's house. For a while after covid, properties in our community were really hot and selling for high prices. That seems to have leveled off now and things are selling cheaper, but not selling as fast. But they are still selling. Hopefully you will be able to sell it soon. I keep checking to see what else I can do to make the transition easy for my kids when I go. My lawyer seems to think everything is in order, so I hope so.

My little dog has been diagnosed with Cushings, so I am dealing with that. He has been on new meds for awhile and had a re-check yesterday to see if the meds are doing the job. He does seem better, so I am hoping the tests come back better. Cushings causes too much of the body's natural cortisol to be secreted by the adrenal glands resulting in several problems. They can actually live as long without treatment but their life is better with treatment. One of the biggest problems is that when they eat, the food doesn't sit in the body long enough for nutrients to be absorbed. So they tend to lose weight and pooh a lot as it just passes through. Hoping for positive test results.

I was on an RV trip earlier in the summer. Seven weeks and 4500 miles. I left Florida and went to Virginia to see my daughter and her family. Then headed to Indiana for a family function. I stopped in Ohio on the way to visit with friends we went to Alaska with 13 years ago. Spent two weeks in Indiana including a stop in Shipshewana, Stopped at Firefly Integrations to have my Firefly system updated and working again. Then I headed across country to attend the Escapade in Fryeburg, Maine. On the way I stopped in New Hampshire to visit with friends who live next to me a couple months out of the year. That was a lot of fun. They took me to Hampton Beach one day so I could get lobster! The next day we went into Boston and toured The Constitution (Old Ironsides) and then went into the North End and toured the Old North Church where Paul Revere launched his famous ride. Rick, my friend, drove tour bus for years, so he knows all the roads in/around the area and was a great tour guide. I hope to go back and explore more areas.

From there I drove two hours north to the fairgrounds in Maine where Escapade was held. It was a fun week and I enjoyed meeting people, but I'm not sure I will do more rallies. When Terry and I would go, it was a lot more fun. I don't find the seminars of much interest to me. I have RV'd for 54 years now, so while I'm not saying I know it all. . . I do know a lot. When I left there, I did a couple mountain scenic drives in the White Mountains and stayed in North Conway for a couple nights. It was beautiful and I would like to go back there as well.

On the way out of Vermont I stopped at a little country store and found it was home to the Sugar Bush Scotties. . . champion show dogs! Course I had my Scottie with me but he stayed in the motorhome, but I got a good visit in with the owners.

Stopped in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on the way home and made another stop at my daughter's in Virginia before landing in Florida again. It was a great trip. Now I am getting ready to leave for Greece on the 15th of August. Brendon will stay with his best friend Monica while I am gone. He loves her and she takes good care of him.
