In the forums mentioned by rick, there is a gulf of difference between their ability to comprehend the technology that goes into petro-chemistry, tribology, high tech coatings, metallurgy, fluid mechanics, and many other fields of expertise.
The majority of posters do not have access to the fundamental documents and technical information in these fields, let alone the wherewithal to sit down, learn and understand it.
As an example, in another thread, certain people argued until they are blue in the face that sulfur in fuel is not a lubricant --- despite the indisputable scientific evidence presented that it results in lubricity. A poster even asked how it can possibly be a lubricant when it does not do so when mixed with things like ATF!
In order to seriously understand and diagnose what might be (not what it appears to be) the issue with this high tech piece of equipment - the Bosch CP 4.x pump,that is what is required.
Quite often, in lieu of doing the homework, people like rick were trashed, squelched, etc. to prevent information that reveals the ignorance of the trashers / squelchers from being made obvious.
Like by the NHTSA data....
Talking about that.. someone on this thread still think GM didn't have a problem, as there are few forum threads about it!
