Not so sure Ford is that specific on specs.
There are two kinds of vendor relationships.
One where the vendor has considerable IP (Bosch) or the other where the vendor is a commodity producer that makes whatever to Ford specs.
The contracts are quite different, and so is the wording of who is responsible for what, etc.
