Now that we had the party propaganda on biodiesel, what about in real life?
Many biodiesel makers and marketers are not accredited by a reputable organization like this one:

Producers, Marketers, Labs all can be accredited.
That leaves a whopping 19% or so of producers outside the system.
Worse, biodiesel have a short shelf life, and need a lot of care and feeding to handle properly post production.
The percentage of biodiesel marketers accredited is not known... but not many.

For those who know accreditation, it is a "look see" and do not necessarily involve continuous monitoring of each batch,
So how good is your biodiesel?
You tell me.
Because I don't let the stuff near my truck --- unless it is the tiny % that is mandated by law.
Diesel marketers basically allowed the tiny percentage on the theory that if the biodiesel they got is junk, the stuff is, touch wood, so diluted it doesn't matter.

According to BQ-9000 program manager Kyle Anderson, 79 percent of U.S. biodiesel production in 2010 came from BQ-9000 accredited producers. This number has steadily increased since 2005 and, so far in 2011, it has risen to 81 percent. Along with the continued commitment by biodiesel producers, there has been a noticeable increase in interest from marketers and fuel testing laboratories in recent months.
