Another topic to bone up on and don't have the time at this time...
Only surface I've seen DLC in the CP 4.1 is the roller follower or "shoe" that fits inside the bottom of the steel piston... the roller rides inside of it 50% of the circumfirence (sp) and it bears the full load of the side load to the piston to the cylinder wall from the cam rotating and driving it sideways with thrust, and the pressure of the plunger upwards for the 2000 bar max pressure.

Here's a piston with roller that got 90% out of alignment with the cam during fail mode... ground up shortly, metal filings starved the fuel pump, insufficient fuel pressure in the rail, and the ECM cuts the motor off from running due to insufficient fuel pressure in the rails. Dead motor, never to restart again.
