After a day (or a couple days) of putting around plowing snow, my F350 will run a little funny...it smokes, it sputters off idle a bit, the idle isn't steady. The fix is an Italian tune-up...about 5 miles on the highway at 65MPH, at least the first mile not in overdrive to get the engine wound up & the turbo hot enough to blow out the carbon. It always ran better after that. Diesels NEED to be worked, at least occasionally.
I feel a little bad for the guy behind me the first time I punched it, though. He always gets a cloud of smoke.
