We are close to the point where we can start to write a set of specifications for technicians to design and run experiments to see which hypothesis is good, which is a dud, and which new routes are opened.
Step is to prioritize the experiments (as PDP budgets are always scarce), and then see which ones break first.
Think it is NHTSA that found the cruise control deact switch fire cause, not Ford.

NTSB found the cause of the 737 rudder failure (hot hydraulic fluid hitting cold valve), which to this day, Boeing deny is a failure.
