Thanks NewsW, kinda sorta thought that that level of PSI (29K, 2000Bar) would
have very sharp trailing edges that would then spawn cavitation opportunities
every where
These last posts says to me, that the manifold is of sorts both plenum and
attenuation (accumulator) of the pulses.
A 'big' accumulator does NOT have to rupture/fail to release all 2000 BAR. Just
enough to knock down the pulses...say a few hundred PSI. 'Big' as in volume, not
the bladder/piston/etc taking it all the way down to zero.
IT can also be double walled, etc
Yes, then the cost issue.
Let's put this rat hole aside for moment and address something Niner said that
sparks another oblique thought
Say go back to the older pump and it's lower BAR, which according to most say
never had or never heard of the kinds of problems with the current HPFP
Then to address the emissions, of which this current setup is designed to meet
Anyone know of other methods to clean up the exhaust besides filters, uera,
after burners, etc? Suspect the vehicle OEMs chose the cheapest, not necessarily
the 'best', right?
