To my knowledge... may or may not be correct, Mercedes Benz in conjunction with VAG, teamed up, at least for sedans, to create Blutec tchnology, to clean up the exhaust with urea, at least for the NOX portion of the exhaust.... Then there is the DPF portion and the separate sulfur filter portion of the exhaust system.
Someone with a Ford truck that's a 6.7 from down south, where it's still dry and warm, should crawl under their truck and get some name brands off of all those exhaust filters hanging down that's part of the exhaust system and Google them up to find out more.
