I got nothing yet to back it up, but my gut instinct says really cheap, defective design, whereby Bosch cut too many corners, and this is the end result. Some bean counters looking at quarterly reports for profits, some execs looking at their short term quarterly bonuses, and no one overall, high enough up, looking at the big, long term picture. Too many decisions being made solely on the bottom line for Bosch, not everyone else in the automotive design system. Manufacturerer, in my observation, being sold a Bill of Goods Bosch can't deliver reliability on, not on current fuel, not on "Suitability of Use" for existing fuel conditions and Market laws that operate here in North America.
I would love to have some Bosch Engineer taking the wife and kids on summer vacation in August from somewhere in Texas heading north to Colorado with the 5th wheel in tow, 110F heat, when their HPFP lets go. Maybe then they would do something about it, if a family member suffered heat stroke or dehydration or something life threatening. We are talking about the premise that our transportation be reliable, which is what diesels are known for here in the North American Market.
