Observations on suggested fix of replacing the pump before it fails:
Not recommended.
Reason: as of right now, we cannot find rhyme or reason for the failure.
The only sure thing supported by the data is that it fails in summer, usually after a previous "hot" run.
There is no rhyme or reason as far as mileage goes.
We can't say it last 30,000 miles, so replace it at 28,000.
