Anyone have a cross section of the CP3 pump?
Am looking to see if it too has a 'metering valve' on the intake side of the
cylinder head
Ask and you get:
Component list, as per the article this photo comes from:
1. Flange
2. Shaft
3. Polygonal ring
4. Housing
5. Gear pump
6. Overflow valve
7. Low-pressure inlet
8. Metering unit
9. Backflow connector
10. High-pressure connector
11. Plunger
12. Bucket
13. Suction valve
14. High-pressure valve (out to rail)
Note that number 4 on the list, the Housing, is Steel on the CP3 and aluminum on the CP4. One of those things that make you go Hmmmm? Aluminum is cheap, fast, and easy to machine, it cuts like butter compared to steel or stainless steel. Easy on tool bits too.
