Explaining the apparently lower failure rates in Canada --- as per NHTSA data.
The immediate thought that comes to mind is much lower operating temperatures.
SCAR is better --- but could temperature just play as important a part?
Note the concentration of failures in summer, in southern / coastal states.
Another possible explanation: biodiesel (not mandatory blends, but higher levels) is generally less available in Canada.
