While I know this is a Ford related 6.7 post, the commonality of the Bosch CP 4.x pump comes up in what ever vehicle it is installed in and the failures.
Here is a link from the VW TDIclub.com pages of people that volunteered to list their failures... it is by no means all inclusive of the total amount of HPFP's that have failed that are Bosch CP 4x generation series of pumps.
There is no rhyme nor reason to the failures, they occur in all states, regardless of mileage, lots of them occur just after or at the end of the warmest seasons of the year, or vacation time. Consider this raw data, from the owners, some know what's up, some don't, but quite a few express fear that this isn't the end of the story or of the failures, despite VW warrantying the $8 to $10,000 repair, and loaners and.... and.... and 3 weeks down without a vehicle. There are a few folks that have had multiple failures... with significant amounts of time and mileage between them.
