I got an update from the tech.
It was the dreaded HPFP issue. The pump had spewed metal into the injectors.
Ford has agreed to cover the replacement as a warranty issue. The truck never made any of the sounds or issues before I took it in, so I am thinking that the pump did its thing when the Tech started it on Tuesday morning.
Glad it is covered under warranty and very glad you were not on the road with family towing a big trailer on vacation....
Still pretty inconvenient in my book..
