Delimma, we postponed arrival twice now to Yellowstone due to smoke from 2 fires near the West Gate. We have decided to venture in. Will arrive tomorrow. Everything in Park is still open. One of the main fires is 4 miles north of the west entrance.
From there we wanted to head down to Grand Tetons. But as of now the South entrance into Yellowstone coming from the Grand Tetons is still closed due to another fire. Heading south on US 191 there are two major fires. So we are undecided on what to do. Should we try and get into the Grand Tetons or just continue south into Utah and start heading over to the Arches.
Has anyone driven the beartooth highway in Yellowstone. Since we have been out this way it has closed twice now because of snow.
Even though the fires are going on, most of the campgrounds are full for next weekend around the park for the holiday. The next 3 days entrance to all NP are free for the 100th anniversary.
