The title "Colonel" was synonymous with the Old South. Colonel was a term used with any Southern gentleman that held prestige in a community. Old Fella fits the mold to a tee. If ever there was a "Southern Gentleman" it is Old Fella. Knocked down, tattered, worn, but not given in to the hardships of life he has managed to signify the image of an old southern gentleman that has still got a lot of life and wisdom to give. Yep Old Fella is a symbol of Southern heritage, tough to the core with a heart that is pure tenderness when it comes to knowing how to love and respect those to whom he owes homage. Sue thinks he is a yankee dog but I beg to differ. No dog can howl the way he does and not belong to the deep south.
I had to stand up and salute. :B
