385 south to Big Bend?
We have been told that 385 south from Fort Stockton, TX to Big Bend NP is in poor condition with lengthy unpaved sections. Has anyone driven this recently that can provide accurate information?

- I think that you have bad information. We drove that road last year and it was fine - - at least the part from Marathon south into the park. Can't imagine that the road could have deteriorated to the condition you describe so fast.
- ...just wondering who told you the road was poor condition and unpaved.....
- Update for anyone interested, it is good all of the way into the park and to the end at the Rio Grande.
- I've driven that road a couple time in the past, and it was definitely paved.
- There's nothing on the Dept. of Transportation stating any problem.
