This list made me LOL. It was obviously compiled by some city kid who's terrified of anywhere without street lights.
The most dangerous roads I've ever been on are in urban areas.
Yep, I been on that I-10 section hundreds of times over the last 30 yrs. Dangerous ??? boring yes. As far as 550 is its a good road stick to the speed limit and you will be fine. Pay attention stay off your cell phone and away from other distracting things like adjusting the volume on your radio. - Dog_FolksExplorer

Sorry, NOTHING compares to the traffic, roads and idiots around Boston!
Used to be the most expensive car insurance in the country, but Boston drivers are slipping, and now Boston only ranks the 12th most expensive.
Come on Boston, you can be number one again! - TyroneandGladysExplorerGee and I thought that the most dangerous would be any road after stopping to eat at Taco Bell

- 2gypsies1Explorer IIIWe've done 4 out of 5...not Hwy 17 in South Carolina but only because we've not been in the area.
We absolutely love driving secondary roads and mountain roads.
I-10 - the only issue between Phoenix & Tucson would be dust storms. - notevenExplorer IIIO. M. G. !!!!
I've already survived 2 of these !!! !!! ! !!!!

Highway 2 in Montana goes nowhere near Butte or Three Forks. Since it's not far from the Canadian border it' s a real challenge in winter.2lazy4U wrote:
I just shake my head at the sensationalism used to get a few clicks. I've never been on the SC one, but the rest aren't bad. The freeway between Butte and Three Forks? Give me a break.
I take it neither of you have heard of Montana-2, either that or you can't read a map.
Few people, other then locals (I used to live there) have ever taken Montana-2. Even then you need a reason. I-90 is a much better road.
The only real issue is the distance for medical aid, and that most of it certainly doesn't have cell-phone coverage.
I took Montana-2 for fun one time, it's really not a bad road, but for 99.999% of the folk; I-90 is the better choice. - OzlanderExplorerWhat c*r*a*p.
Done them all on a motorcycle pulling a camping trailer and a van pulling a TT.
Some are so dull you may fall to sleep.
People drive thousands of miles on highways with no guard rails without running off of the highway.
