OK, while waiting, still for our Sola Basic 4000, which was shipped today, we are told, we had an, "Ah Ha!" moment!
We still have about 2 weeks here in Zihuatanejo, where it is HOT. Our puppy won't have her last shot until Monday, and then another week makes her safe to travel. Yes, we have been through this before, played the odds, and have decided to wait.
Our original roof AC compressor, from 2003, took a dive, permanently, and was replaced with another compressor. It is a vertical unit, and we had a low profile unit, so we had the cover modified. Remember, labor in Mexico is very inexpensive. This unit will be replaced with the same one when we return to the US.
Our power here, be it in the "park" or from CFE, has enough highs and lows to kick our EMS by Progressive Industries off about 30 times a day. We are waiting for the voltage regulator from ISB.
Our "ah ha" moment was that we could just purchase a house model portable AC unit and get by. Neighbor gave us her Sam's card, so jumped in the taxi, one of us staying with the dogs and puppy, and shopping. Came home with an LG unit, about $380.US. It's very nice in here now.
We have made these decisions: We have to have AC to finish our trip. The roof AC is toast, and will be replaced in the US. The voltage regulator should/hopefully/may help.
Due to climate change on our beach in Southern California, we had discussed a portable AC unit for this summer. Now we own one.
Hopefully, the ISB unit will arrive, the new roof air will be great, and all will be will.
