Absolute Route 66 sites to see and places to stay

Stop at Oatman, Arizona, (north and east of Yuma). It is a tourist trap, but well worth it. The town is named after the family that was kidnapped by Indians. One daughter was eventually freed by the Army, and her story was published but her husband bought up all the copies. Just what happened to her has always been in question. Her sister and parents died, but her brother survived the ambush and notified the Army. I believe Clark Gable vacationed here.
