Alamagordo Hyw 54
How is hwy 54 up to Alamagordo from I 10?.. Is it doable with a 5th wheel? Any major passes? Any concerns? Thanks eyeland

- That stretch between El Paso and Alamogordo is, to my recollection, a long flat straight boring road.... very easy.
Then again, it has been 45 years since I drove it. I assume it is still well maintained. - 54 is a very easy drive from I-10 to I-40.
- Just did that drive last summer and there were no problem areas. It is a pleasant drive.
- A little over two years ago we spent some time in the Alamagordo area - the highway in that area and up to Carrizozo was in excellent shape. A fine road to pull a trailer.
- easy peasy.
- 4 lane divided highway. Flat as a board.
