Albuquerque to St. Louis
Looking for help with best route from Albuquerque to St. Louis, hopefully avoiding toll roads. Not necessarily in a hurry but good roads appreciated.

I-40 to I-44 is the quickest and shortest route, but it does include tolls along I-44 in OK. To avoid those tolls, you can parallel the toll road on scenic "Old Route 66" through towns like Chandler, Bristow, Claremore, and Vinita. Expect to increase travel time by a half hour or so, and I think you save about $8 in tolls (I have a PikePass so I don't pay much attention to the exact amounts).
