St. Louis Recommendations?

There's a KOA close to Six Flags. Spacious sites.

Stayed there 3 years ago. Nice KOA. This was April, so the pool was empty.

When I went to St Louis this year, I stayed at the Casino Queen RV park. It is quite near the arch (just across the river), a few minutes walk from the light rail system; it's not at all near Six Flags, thoguh. It's not an exquisite park with noteworthy ammenities, but it is adequate and kept clean and has decent security, as unfortunately is rather necessary in East St. Louis.

You absolutely positively need to go to the City Museum with your kids if you haven't been there already. Six Flags is kind of more or less the same no matter which Six Flags park you go to (I know, not identical), but the City Museum is entirely unique and at least as much fun. The St Louis Zoo is also excellent.

While you are waiting search this Forum in the RV Parks section for `St. Louis' also `Saint Louis'. We always stay at Sundermeier.

We've stayed there also. If you call the casino, they'll send a van to pick you up and take you to the corner of their property where the light rail station is.

We did not feel uneasy even with the reputation of East St. Louis.

We have also stayed at 370 Lake Side park in St. Peters. This wasn't nearly as convenient to downtown, but was a very nice park (so long as it isn't underwater when you want to go). A little less expensive than Casino Queen.

Cahokia RV Parque
While visiting this park also visit Cahokia Mounds State Park nearby. At one time it was the largest city in North America - even larger than London at that time. Soon to be raised to National Park status. There was a great BBQ restaurant co-located with this park when we were there last.

St Louis RV Park A full-facility RV park in downtown St. Louis. We are within 10 minutes of many attractions, including the Gateway Arch, Busch Stadium and Forest Park. - This park is right in downtown St Louis. It is completely fenced. There's been no reports of trouble in the news concerning this park.

There is a Yogi Bear park across the road from the KOA that's been mentioned. They double as winter wonderland light show before Christmas. Both of these parks get over $50/night. They are adjacent to 6 Flags and 30 minutes from the Arch.

The KOA is the closest to Six Flags and is not bad, although when we were there in 2017 their electrical infrastructure was quite challenged - low voltage issues in some rows actually forced them to close quite a few sites during the hot days (our Progressive EMS kept tripping out so they had to move us). They may have fixed it since.

Friends with a Prevost like Sundermeier as well. We stayed there once for an overnight. Friendly place but definitely more urban than the KOA (and not as convenient to Six Flags)

Early June, this year, we stayed there for a few nights. Not planned and lucky to get a spot since the park we had a reservation for was flooded. Both parks along highway 141 in Fenton were under water.

We visited the Arch last year. We had reservations at the Casino Queen RV Park, but ended up staying at the Famcamp at Scott AFB, but fill that the Casino Queen would have be a good option.
