Between St. Louis and Cincinnati

We are looking for gardens, homes or museums to visit somewhere between St Louis and Cincinnati. Don't need info on activities in St. Louis or Cincinnati. Been there, done that. Trying to find some new places on the route in-between. Thanks
  • Look for the smaller towns you want to visit and find them on TripAdvisor.com. We find lots of interesting things in all categories that way.

  • American Quilting Society Museum in Paducah, Ky. Land Between the Lakes camping nearby

My Old Kentucky Home in Bardstown, Ky. Campground there.

Bourbon Trail through north central Ky. Probably close enough to Cincy you won’t need to camp.
  • If you're willing to divert a bit off the direct route between St Louis and Cincinnati, just a bit north off of I-72 at Monticello IL is Allerton Park. Beautiful gardens. Be sure to take a walk thru the paths to see all the statues. 1500 acres. Now owned by the UofI.
    Allerton Park Monticello

There's a small county park and campground less than 10 miles west.
    Friends Creek County Park
