We will be heading to Six Mile Lake and Grundy Lake Provincial Park in a couple weeks. I have camped extensively in the canoe area wilderness in Quetico and know the strategies to avoid bears in the back country. Do I need to do anything special to prevent bear issues with my travel trailer?Thanks,Fred

Mostly the same rules apply. Don't keep food or food waste outside, don't use your fire ring as a garbage pit. (There are usually bear resistant containers for garbage.) If I had a tent camper or hybrid, would store my food in the car.

Probably a good idea to be able to run faster than at least one other person!:)Seriously, use your head when storing and openly using foods and remember should an encounter occur, distance is your friend. Speak, move slowly backwards, and try NOT to look the animal directly in the eyes as this is recieved as a challenge. Safe travels.Lakeside

Most of the bears I've seen in Ontario were at the dump, so my advice is to stay out of dumps!
