We're right in between Philly & Wilmington DE. I'm thinking we'll be going down along the coast and coming back through Charolette & then Luray. My current plan was to stop around Richmond, but that didn't sound too fun. I'm either going to do the trip in 2 or 3 days and haven't made that call yet.
I'm thinking we'll do the CBBT and will look into Virginia Beach, Wilmington and the Outer Banks.
Thanks for all the tips!
If you decide to stop near Richmond , you can always stop at mile marker 98 at Kings Dominion Campground.. They offer a free shuttle to Kings Dominion Amusement Park.. We usually stay there a time of 2 a year.. The campground just had a complete makeover 2 years ago , and is pretty nice... It's a good way to kill a day- VeebyesExplorer IIHave stopped at Carolina Crossroads a few times. Decent CG. You can wash RV there.
Another way of avoiding the Baltimore/DC traffic is to take 301 all the way down. Nice ride once S of Waldorf. - jplante4Explorer IIFredricksburg KOA and Carolina Crossroads are ok for a 1-2 day stop. Both are convenient to I-95.

Thanks for all the tips! - trailertravelerExplorerIf you take the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, Virginia Beach is about the first place to stop in March. If you take US-17, there are a number of RV parks along the way that are open all year depending on how far you want to drive each day. Wilmington, NC has the Battleship North Carolina. There is a Historic District with the old Cotton Exchange and a River Walk. There are also plantations, museums and other attractions.
- VeebyesExplorer IIWhich way? Down 95 through Baltimore & Washington, yuck, or down the delmarva & across the CBBT, much nicer?
- DrbolaskyExplorerIt would help to know your intended route. We've used the Americamps north of Richmond, and have also used the Holiday RV park in Virginia Beach.
- aslaksonExplorerOr head for the coast and try the Outer Banks.
al - wildtoadExplorer IIEver been to Mayberry?

We're heading down in March and haven't decided on a place to stop on the way down. I'm thinking somewhere to stay 1-2 days in mid-March. On the way back up we're thinking of stopping in Charolette & along the BRP in VA.
How far from PA do you want to stop ?? Your in central PA , correct? So I assume your doing 81-77-26 ?? We stayed at Endless caverns in VA... just off 81.. we had a GREAT time , the kids were about the age of yours at the time and there was a ton to do!
