Almost just a tourist road and small town supply route given that oil exploration isn't a factor and there are almost no heavy vehicles to worry about. Now that the rkad extends to Tuk, I'd suggest that the Dalton will be much less enticing (and lets face it, these sort of places are enticing only "because it is there" just like top of the world) because the Dempster allows yo to drive right to the Arctic Ocean and put a front tyre in the sea if you want and camp and swim, and you can't do that in Alaska
BTW are we all clear as to which is the Dempster and which is the other one
