Bakersfield to Morro Bay
Going from Bakersfield to Morro Bay; Is I5 to 46 to the 101 to 41 the best route? Or take 58 from I5 across be better?

We just did a similar route from Morrow Bay to Kettleman City with no issues.
Do not, I repeat, do not take Old Creek Road from 46 to Cayucos. The warning signs restricting the road to trucks under 7 tons, and not recommended for Trailers or RV's are accurate. . . very accurate. Our GPS took us on that route, and the warning sign was visible only after we had made the turn. Towing the CRV behind our 36 MH made backing up problematic, so we continued on. Locals we amazed that we successfully navigated that route. I had a very special Martini after that white-knuckled ride.
