I'm looking for the best route from Bakersfield thru or past L.A.to Temecula. Towing a 25.5 5th wheel. Thanks for any tips on least busy route and time of day.

Are icy roads a common issue around Tehachapi Pass on 58 in the winter?
I made the mistake of traveling thru LA area on Thanksgiving day to Temecula from Santa Barbara. There was no routes that seemed to avoid 5-10mph traffic most of the way. Won't make that mistake again!
