I agree with the above definitely would
not take I-10 as an alternate. One area of the westbound section between Baton Rouge and Lafayette was so bad that it actually threw my little dog into the air, injuring her back when she slammed back down! In my view, Louisiana officials should be put in jail. Oh wait... it's Louisiana ... they are in jail. :)
I'm looking at US-190 or US-90 as alternate ways to get from New Orleans past the worst sections of I-90. Judging by the posts here (and elsewhere), though, I'm not encouraged about finding a smooth drive anywhere. Ugh.
