Best place to cross border from ON, CN to MI,US?

Once Detroit Windsor POE gets done, Sarnia will play second fiddle. DO NOT use the tunnel, you won't fit.

I went through Port Huron/Sarina last summer. The line was quite long but we got through in about 1/2 hour. The Customs Officer was very polite, professional, and very fast.

Apart from Hornet's multi-posting, you should get the idea that avoiding Detroit is a good idea. We live closer to Detroit and we still avoid it.

If you cross back into the US at Niagara, you use non-toll roads across Ohio, but you will have to look for them. Both OH and NY don't care if you like them as long as you leave money behind.

I always cross at Port Huron/Sarnia. I understand that Detroit can be a hassle but I thought it would be shorter. However checking Google maps shows the distance from Niagara Falls to Phoenix using either port of entry is just about the same mileage wise. Personally I would stay away from Detroit
