Best quickest route from Syracuse Ny to Pittsboro NC

That's too easy. I-81 to US220

In North Carolina, US 220 and I-73 run together. Stay with I-73 to (north) I-85 to (south) US 421 to (east) US 64.

Ok I see it now... is 220 a fast interstate road ?? I was looking at getting off 81 in Winchester andband taking 66 to 17 to 95 to 85 but you think 220 is better

I've done that US50/US17 route out of Winchester back to I-95 just north of Fredricksburg. It's a pretty drive, but not really interstate. If you go I-66, you do a little back-tracking north to pick up US17, but it may be faster time wise.

According to google maps, the trip down I-81 and US220 is a half hour faster than I-81/US50/US17/I-95/I-85.

If you end up on I-95, take the loop around Richmond.

What city do I pick up 220 ? I’m missing something

US 220 is not a "fast interstate road." It is mostly a 4 lane - divided highway with grade-level crossing. Some of the by-passes around larger towns, Martinsville, for example, are freeways. In NC, 220 and I-73 overlay.

If you want to get over to I-95 to I-85, I would stay on I-81 to just south of Middletown and take I-66 to US 17. Personally, I don't like driving I-95 between Washington and Petersburg, the terminus of I-85.

You get on 220 in Roanoke at exit 143. It's a left exit, I believe.

Ok sorry, looking at my atlas,, I see 220.. I don’t see 73.. or where to pick up 85
