We turned off 50 down to GB and back up to 50 three years ago with no problem. We unhitched our toad at the visitor center, drove the Wheeler Peak Scenic loop including a short hike on one of the trails on top in it, and then re-hooked up before continuing our trip to Delta. We had no trouble with 487 and 488 to the park and just retraced back to 50.
