best route near Great Basin Natl. Park

I only know one couple who've been there - and they say it is a must see destination. It is just so far off the normal national park trail that few make the side trip over to the park.
We intend to be there in early November, because that's how our schedule looks to work out. Hope the snow doesn't stop our visit. Even though it will likely be in the 20s at night - everything I've read / heard says it should be a great visit.
