Boise to Winnemucca - Hwy 95
Winnemucca to Sacramento - I 80
Sacramento to Fresno - 99 or I5
Given changing winter conditions during that time of year, that would be the simplest route and, other than Donner Summit (Reno to Sacramento), would be the least likely route to experience adverse winter conditions.
There are other, more scenic, routes, but that's about a 9-10 hour drive going that way. If Donner is snowed in, there are RV parks in the Reno area to wait out until the roads can get plowed. I80 is a major route, so they keep it clear.

Yep, this is really the only practical choice. All are good roads. - JohndanielscpaExplorer

It starts out as ID55 west from Boise, but most of the route is US95 through Oregon and Nevada.
Another oops! Right, 55 ends when you hit US 95. Then you would take 95 south to Winnemucca. - braindead0ExplorerDonner Pass should be clear in November. However I would suggest being prepared.
If you are on any sort of schedule and not driving a 4wd/awd vehicle with M+S rated tires, I'd recommend getting chains before going and learning how to install them. Last thing you want to do is be at the mercy of the chain sellers/renters over the pass.
However if it's no hurry, there are plenty of places to stay and wait for the pass to be cleared. - pauljExplorer IIIt starts out as ID55 west from Boise, but most of the route is US95 through Oregon and Nevada.
- JohndanielscpaExplorerOops! Sorry. You'll be 9-10 hour drive to Sacramento and about another 2-3 hours down to Fresno (as memory serves).
