bypass Atlanta for motorhome travel..update..got it!

update........I85 from here in nc.....then #129..thru ...several state parks...@ lake hartwell...lake Sinclair..all way down...we're stoked..packed & rollin!

headed to central Florida...end of October..towing the car. .we'll use a good sam trip planner & we've been looking at highway #83 to miss all the Atlanta traffic
y'all got any good routes with clearance on underpasses you use?

    we're going to live oak florida ..volunteered at that state park...
    plus..scenic highways are nice...looking at #83..going down east side of Atlanta...looks like a good road....I'm checking overpass clearance right now..but i have keep changing highways..lottsa times if i don't go interstate..
    if i find that i have to change this much..it'll be 77...26..95..
  • Lived in Gwinnett county North Atlanta. If you wait to hit spaghetti junction (North side outer loop intersection) on 85 south until after 9:15 am you will clear south side in 45 minutes. 6 lanes mostly clear until 2:00 pm.
    Traffic starts building at 0645 am. So if you start thru at 0615 you should clear to the south side quickly. By the way the outer loop WILL NOT help. Any other route will cost a lot of time. Had a fleet of a few hundred trailer...

    Traffic does fly and does not respect you when changing lanes. Pick a center lane of stay there.
