From the Mountain Directory West:
Between Prather and Shaver Lake hwy 168 includes an 11 mile 7% grade. The lower 8 miles are 4 lane. Very few curves are marked. This is a very steep grade. There is a T intersection at the bottom. The upper 3 miles are two lane with very sharp curves. Along the side of Shaver Lake there are a few short but steep climbs and descents with very sharp switchbacks.
Above Shaver Lake hwy 168 climbs for 7 miles at 6-7% to Tamarack Ridge, el 7582'. This is a good two lane with 40 mph curves.
Between Tamarack Ridge and Lakeshore includes several short 6-7% climbs and descents.
Thank you very much, 7% I can handle, that's the info I needed. Do you know of a web site that give hwy grades? Again I appreciate your input.
