Cajon Pass in So Cal Southbound

Previously I've warned of potential traffic congestion & delays in Cajon Pass in So Cal due to ongoing construction. Used it yesterday in both directions. Northbound at around noon was fairly congested but traffic was flowing just fine. Southbound around 5 was a mess. Slowed to under 10mpn from the summit to well past the truck weigh station. That's a distance of between 6-10 miles I'd guess. Today it should be much, much worse due to the Vegas crowd heading home. Ongoing construction is the main culprit, but with the damage to I-10 last weekend, drivers are possibly using Cajon Pass as an alternative. If you plan to use the pass southbound over the next few weeks, consider timing it to avoid peak travel times, especially Sunday afternoon/evening.

    YEP.......

Friday evening I-15 northbound from Sierra Ave to Summit was congested.
Now it's all the way to Barstow

    Sunday evening southbound same same.

Add in on-going construction, FOG, Snow, idiot drivers/wrecks, train derailments, downed high voltage lines, fires, truck scales open/closed etc. etc. FUN FUN FUN
