I used i overlander all through mexico and like it, but I am not traveling in a large 'coach' or 5 th wheel and do not need to call and make a reservation
I agree that ioverlander does have uses but since it seems to have fewer than half the possible stops I have in my records it does seem quite limiting. We do use it as a cross reference and find some of it useful. But all the posts are done by travelers and not experienced writers of detailed information - with no editing to clarify things and to make sure pertinent information is made available in the writeup. To me this is limited information. I am greedy when it comes to info - I always want more.
We almost never call for reservations but we do want to know if some places in Mexico are still in business. Years of experience traveling all over Mexico have taught us to look before we leap. Places go in and out of business all the time. Some are closed for awhile and then open again. Some say they are building a new park but then it never actually happens. So we want contact info. Sometimes we can get it from people on this forum. I sure wish more people would provide updates to the Church Rolling Home website - it would help all of us to have that resource - and more info from experts who know what we want to know about.
